we like to think that we are the masters of our own destiny. it comes with the package and as americans, we get a double portion. our sinful nature and the american mentality of “we know best.”
the reality is that we are not in control and the world doesnt revolve around us. and the test is if you think it does…tell God that everything you have and possess is because you “earned it” and God cant take it from you. if your that egocentric, watch out!
no matter how hard we try, we cant do a thing to make ourselves perfect…which is Gods standard.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
the good news of Easter is we dont have to do anything, the work has been done…Jesus died on the cross on our behalf. and because of His death and resurrection we now have access to God.
we are sinners in need of a Savior, and if we believe that He died on the cross for our sins, and confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and Savior…He will meet us where we are at.
so contrary to what you may hear at times…dont do something, do nothing!
