harnessing the power of photography for good

Farmville: Oaxaca Style

this is cyndy smiths 3rd entry…can somebody say “hat-trick!”

I had the opportunity to shoot at a farm this morning that is a join project between AIL and the church here in Tlacolula. They are using the land to show the people in this area how to make an effective drip system for watering their crops. The crops are watered every other day out of one of the two wells on the properties.

They also have built two green houses to demonstrate how to grow radishes and other small vegetables. The green houses lengthen the growing season, protect fragile plants, and also facilitate growing more vegetables in a small area. This is an example of how the church can be God’s hands in reaching out in practical ways to help their community.
